Raakhi Gupta
District Governor 2024-25

Born in a reputed Jain family from Jaipur, Rotarian Dr. Raakhi Gupta, daughter of an IPS officer, has been a Rotarian since 1998. She joined Rotary as a Chartered Secretary of Rotary Club Jaipur Marugandha, an exclusive Club for women. Masters in Chemistry and a Gold Medalist, she is a Ph.D. She has been working as a Professor and Registrar at the IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur, since its inception.

She has been engaged in a number of community service and outreach activities through Rotary. She has held key positions at the Club and District level such as President, Secretary of the Club as well as Literacy Chairman, Assistant Governor, and District Secretary General at the District level, which has further honed her leadership and organizational capacity. She served as the Additional District Trainer (RID-3054) for 2022-23. She was a member of the GSE team which went to Florida, District-6890 during 1997-98. She has won several awards from Rotary International including the Presidential Citation for achieving Rotary goals during her tenure as the Club President as well as for carrying out important District assignments with elan.

Dr. Gupta has received a number of awards from Rotary besides the “Four Avenues of Service Citation for Individual Rotarians-2001” for outstanding efforts in the Four Avenues of Service and the “Presidential Citation” in the year 2003.

As one of the crusaders in the Polio Eradication Programme in India, she worked very hard to promote, propagate and motivate people all over the District. Right since 1998, she has worked ceaselessly to reach the affected areas and ensure greater participation in National Immunization drives. The Rotaract Club of her University - under the National Service Scheme - contributed its bit to administer the Polio vaccine to children during the Rotary-organized Polio Eradication drive. Dr. Gupta has also promoted The Rotary Foundation by ensuring greater contribution to the Annual Programme Fund by herself being a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. In addition, she strives to educate people as to why they should contribute to the Foundation.

Never to lose a battle in the head, Dr. Raakhi Gupta - as an education leader and a Rotarian - thus brings to life the very essence of what Rotary stands for: to aspire towards the practice of integrity, responsibility and equality and to help create an environment of continual learning and development; empathy and service, by subscribing to the theory of leading by example.

She is Married to Rotarian Pankaj Gupta an Electrical Engineer and Energy Auditor. They are blessed with two children, Son-Mehul, an Engineer and Daughter, Raadhika a Doctor.
